2003 Economic Support & W-2 Proclamation



A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the people of Wisconsin recognize the hard work and effort performed by Wisconsin's specialists in the Economic Support and Wisconsin Works (W-2) agencies and their excellence when administering the difficult, complex and ever-changing public assistance programs; and

WHEREAS, these specialists determine eligibility based on household resources available and consistently deliver timely and accurate benefits and payments based on various entitlement and non-entitlement programs in a sensitive, professional and expeditious manner; and

WHEREAS, Economic Support and Wisconsin Works Specialists play a major role in promoting self-sufficiency and work toward relieving the effects of poverty in their respective communities in our state; and

WHEREAS, Economic Support and Wisconsin Works Specialists work diligently to maintain a high quality of customer service using the Client Assistance for Re-Employment and Economic Support (CARES) computer system, various CARES steering committees and workgroups; and

WHEREAS, Economic Support and Wisconsin Works Specialists are responsible for implementing several successful welfare reform initiatives simultaneously, thereby contributing to national recognition of the State of Wisconsin in the area of welfare reform; and

WHEREAS, the overall performance and dedication of Economic Support and Wisconsin Works Specialists merit recognition from the State of Wisconsin and the communities in which they serve;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Doyle, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, do hereby proclaim Monday, February 24, 2003 as

ECONOMIC SUPPORT & WISCONSIN WORKS SPECIALISTS DAY

in the State of Wisconsin, and commend this observance to all citizens.
