WSSA Meetings and Conferences

The Annual WSSA Conference and Training Institute
occurs in conjunction with the annual membership business meeting. This is a three day conference, usually held in June, afforded all WSSA members as an opportunity for training, camaraderie, exchange of ideas and recognition of meritorious service at the awards banquet. It is an all-encompassing conference with workshops provided to cover all areas of the social/human service field. The conference is open to all persons, whether or not they are members of WSSA.         Conference Pictures

The Executive Committee, standing committees and ad hoc committees meet regularly. The agenda is established by the committee dependent on the purpose of the committee. Meetings are open, however, only elected or appointed committee members may vote on committee business. View 2009-20010 Meeting Schedule

District associations meet as prescribed by their constitutions and bylaws. The meeting consists of district business and committee member reports. In addition to the district business meeting, the program consists of one or two informational workshops. Attendance is open, but only WSSA members may vote during the business meeting and some districts have a non-member registration fee charge.

If you would like to become more involved in your district, please complete the District Interest form.

Standing committees will sometimes sponsor or co-sponsor training open to all individuals in a related field. For example, ES/Workforce Development Committee is sometimes asked to co-sponsor conferences and workshops with the Division of Workforce Solutions (DWS). These trainings are at the option and initiative of the specific committee and with the approval of the Executive Committee, which is the designated "conference board."
